Japan. My first love and constant photo inspiration. I find this country a magical home for my heart, and natural fit for my camera.
Shot in the Minefield Village, Siem Reap, and Phnom Penh.
Cambodia is a land of utter desperation alongside amazing beauty. It's difficult to put into words what Cambodia means to me, and what I've learned from the people I've been blessed to know there. If you're looking for an opportunity to help those living in poverty, take a look at Landmine Design - a job creation program in a village on a former minefield. The women in the program are educated and make a sustainable income working from home. It's dignified work that's safe and that allows them to care for their children instead of crossing the border into Thailand illegally.
Some of my favorite people in the world are from this incredible country. One of my heroes was born here, and with boldness, faith, and grace she has given her life to caring for children orphaned by the longest running civil war in history.
Shot in Takasaki, Japan.
Each year after New Year's Day all Daruma are brought back to the temple they were purchased from to be burned in a traditional ceremony. After the Daruma are burned, a new one is purchased.
Shot in the outdoors.
From the beaches of Japan to the mountains of Colorado I am in awe of natural beauty that's not hard to find if you just go outside.
