The Colemans - Okinawa Family Session

Natasha and I went to high school together in Okinawa! I don’t like thinking about how long ago that has been now. When I had the chance to go back this October, setting up a family session with Natasha and her family was a top priority. As you likely can already see, the Coleman’s are ridiculously beautiful. They’re also exceptionally cool and kind. I feel privileged to have been able to photograph them in Okinawa, a place that still feels very much like home to me. Photographing the ocean is a welcome change of pace after being surrounded by mountains for a majority of the year.

When I do family sessions, whether I’m in Colorado or Japan, I love to document families playing and interacting with each other. People look their best when they’re comfortable, laughing, and having a good time. This strategy with the Colemans was a piece of cake! They laughed and played, and I could have spent all day photographing them oceanside.
